​WADAC Masters athletes had a very successful meeting at the British Championships in Birmingham last weekend.

Niki Le Bas (W40), after only running her first sprint races a couple of weeks ago, came away with double gold in the 100m and 200m in outstanding times of 12.97 seconds and 26.79 seconds, and leaping straight to the top of the UK rankings in both events.

Heather Mballa (W35) also achieved double gold in the javelin and discus, with impressive throws of 27.85m and 26.77m. She is currently placed 2nd in the UK in javelin and 3rd in the discus.

Moira West (W65) ran to gold in the 100m in 15.53 seconds and silver in the long jump with 3.52m.

Henry Hopkins (M55) came away with double bronze in the long jump and triple jump – 4.78m and 9.88m, and ran well in the 400m with a time of 65.73 seconds and in the 200m with a time of 29.37 seconds.

Sally Serridge (W50) won bronze in the javelin with a throw of 26.47m.

Andy Gannaway (M50) ran well, with his quickest post-marathon time of 2:18.22, finishing 8th.

Steve Pethen (M45) ran 62.97 seconds in the 400m, finishing 8th.

Kathryn Miles (W40) ran 13.75 seconds in the 100m and finished 6th.
