Fri 30th Jun 2017

The final Wessex League match of 2017 is at Andover and will take place on Sunday 16 July.

The first two home matches were very successful with WADAC winning both band we hope to have another successful match this weekend but we need plenty of people to sign up for the final match.  The Wessex League provides a great opportunity for young athletes to compete for WADAC in the 2017 Wessex League: http://www.wessexleaguetandf.co.uk/index.htm.

Please note that there is a Lower YDL match the day before (Sat 15th) at Woking. If you are not planning to attend matches on both days, if possible, please give priority to attending the YDL match on the Saturday. Please note that the YDL has spaces for two scoring athletes in each event so places are more limited than in the Wessex League.

Match 4 - Sunday 16July 2017 at Andover

Who can compete?

The competition is open to all Under 13s (Years 6 and 7), Under 15s (Years 8 and 9), Under 17s (Years 10 and 11) and Under 20s (age at 31st August 2017). Note, there is a separate QuadKids competition for Under 11s.

We can enter 2 scoring athletes for each event (in each age category) and in the track events there is the ability to enter additional athletes as non-scorers (up to 5 non-scorers per age group, per event). There is a maximum of 2 athletes plus one non-scorer per field event (in each age category).

If necessary, we will give priority to those that signed up for the YDL matches but failed to make selection and those that weren’t able to do their preferred events at previous Wessex League matches. Please note that there are already long waiting lists for a couple of events, such as long jump, so we may not be able to offer you a place in one of these events.

You must wear your WADAC vest in order to compete.

Which events can I compete in?

You can compete in a maximum of 3 events plus a relay.

Events include: sprints, sprint hurdles, middle distance, relays, long jump, high jump, shot, javelin and discus.

U13s/U15s wanting to run middle distance can compete in either the 800m or 1500m NOT both.

See the Wessex League timetable (http://www.wessexleaguetandf.co.uk/timetable.htm) for a full list of events for each age group.

Please discuss the events you would like to do with your coach before signing up.
