Another good year for WADAC in the Wessex Cross Country Series
Despite the terrible weather at Bryanstan School on Sunday over 60 WADAC U11s and U13s turned out and put in a good overall performance in very challenging conditions.
The U11 boys team won on the day with James Lewis completing his fourth series win in a row and Stanley Parkinson coming second and Michael Whittaker in fifth place, both beating some excellent New Forest runners who won the first three fixtures in the series. The U11 girls also put in a good performance and came second on the day. Caitie Croft came in third, followed by Safiya Husain in sixth and Rebecca Hutchings in eighth.
These teams were followed by the U13s, where the U13s boys team came second with a fine run from Charlie Cox coming third following by Ben Chesterfield in fourth and Ben Yates in seventh place. For the U13 girls, Lara Bassett came in ninth, Emma Shedden was fourteenth, and Clemmie Rydon came sixteenth and overall they came third on the day.
Throughout the series, this meant that WADAC U11s boys and girls came second with James Lewis winning the U11s boys individual award. The U13s boys also came second with Charlie Cox picking up third place individually. Third place was secured by the U13s girls team.

Paul Cox, the team manager, said this was a fantastic series with over 130 U11s and U13s taking part. There were some excellent individual and team performances especially during the last event when the weather and conditions were awful.
