The final CC6 at Wilverley brought Winchester a double first with Susy Perry and James Espie. The first time the club has had firsts for both men and women in a single race! Susy's triumph helped us secure the ladies team first place for the 2017/18 season.
The last CC6 of the season at Wilverley saw the Winchester women secure first place in the CC6 league for the ladies team. Well done.
This year the course followed the RR10 circuit, which proved a pleasingly technical route with fallen trees, mud and a long incline to the finish. The ladies team was led in by Susy Perry who secured her first win of the season (to complete her previous 2nd and 3rd positions). Charlie Hoskins' 6th and Lynne Allan 37th completed the team with Carrie Oliver finishing in a stalwart 47th.
The men were led in by season debutante James Espie who cruised in first, followed by Steve Oliver 29th, Peat Allan 32nd and Colin McManus 41st completing the men's team. Stephen Lowy 42nd, Steve Cluett 52nd, Pete Watts 71st, Lutz Preuss 76th and Rick Munro 77th brought depth to the Winchester contingent.
Season Highlights: Winchester Women's team 1st place. Martyn West 1st V60. Susy Perry 2nd V40 (and 3rd overall women), Joy Radford 2nd V60 and Pete Watts 3rd V60.
