The Dorking 10 plays host to the BMAF 10-mile championships on 2nd June 2019
The Dorking 10 plays host to the BMAF 10-mile championships on 2nd June 2019 with an 09.00 race start. The race will also be the SWVAC 10-mile championship race and is part of the Surrey county 10-mile championships too so promises good competition.
The race is of course open to all but athletes wishing to take part in the BMAF championships have to be BMAF members and entered through the BMAF Opentrack entry system. BMAF individual medals are 5yr age bands from 35 and team medals are 10yr age groups on the 5's so 35, 45, 55 etc. If you are thinking of taking part do let Joy Radford or Steve Oliver know so we can try to sort out some team groupings.
The Dorking 10 mile road race is one of the premier road races in the south of England, attracting up to 800 entrants annually, many of whom have run the race previously. The race consists of a small single circuit within a larger outer loop through the rolling Surrey countryside and caters for runners of all abilities. There are numerous prizes (details below) for individuals and teams. Starting in 2018, there will also be a 10K race which starts 40 minutes after the 10 mile race and which follows the outer loop only.
The Race HQ is based in the Dorking Rugby Football Clubhouse. Car parking and the finish is on the Big Field, Kiln Lane, Brockham, RH3 7JR. The race starts on Brockham Green which is a 5 minute walk from Race HQ.
