WADAC's under 11 and under 13 endurance runners continued their excellent progress at the recent Hampshire League cross-country fixture in Bournemouth. The under 11 boys maintained their dominance of this season's races, finishing in 11 of the top 15 positions, including four of the top five.

Fielding a total of 36 U11s and 11 U13s, Winchester got off to a good start as Emma Shedden (4th), Jasmine Jones (5th), Lucy Jones (14th) and Grace Tugwell (17th) secured top 20 finishes in the girls' U11 race. Next it was the turn of the boys, who, under the admiring gaze of club chairman Pete Spelman, totally dominated the race. James Lewis added to his victory at Farley Mount, finishing 1st, closely followed by Charlie Kyle (2nd), Tom Grote (4th) and Henry Blackmore (5th). There were seven more WADAC runners between 8th and 15th place. Full results on the Hants Athletics website here : http://www.hampshireathletics.org.uk/results/2016/20161112_hlunder11.html

In the U13 races, Clemmie Rydon and Ellie McErlean both ran well for the girls, but will want to see more team-mates joining them at Popham in the next race. Results here : http://www.hampshireathletics.org.uk/results/2016/20161112_hlgirls.html

For the boys, Doug Scally, Harry Harvey and Iwan Wrey Brown all finished in the top 25 and secured 4th place for the Winchester team, backed up by a further six WADAC runners. Again, a bigger turnout is anticipated at Popham, as WADAC's junior endurance groups continue to grow in size and strength.
