Fine conditions met the runners today at Canford Heath in the first Wessex League Cross Country of the season.  In the U11 Girls race, Hannah Lowe paced it well to move through the field to 5th position, closely followed by Poppy Taylor (8th) and Rebecca Hutchings (9th) to lead the WADAC girls to an excellent team victory.

The ‘B’ team was made up of:  Scarlett Anderson (10th), Summer Curtis (18th) and Elodie Gill (24th). The ‘C’ team was made up of: Emma Latimer (27th), Megan Vincent (34th) and Ella Ramage (35th). The ‘D’ team was made up of: Amelie Gill (38th), Mia Ollis (39th) and Millie Hardcastle (40th)
In the U11 Boys, there was WADAC interest throughout the race with 17 of the 40 runners sporting the black and gold colours.  Jacob Hutchings (5th), Casper Wilson (6th) and Sam Wilkinson (7th) finished in close succession to finish 2nd team, narrowly missing out on first place.
The ‘B’ team was made up of:  Bradley Lewis (11th), Joshua Smith (15th) and Seth Noott (16th). The ‘C’ team was made up of:  Oliver Corrie (18th), Thomas Latimer (21st) and Sam Murray (22nd). The ‘D’ team was made up of:  Felix Bowyer (23rd), Archie Sleeth (28th) and Louis Smith (30th). The ‘E’ team was made up of:  Luca Kendall (32nd), Rasmus Cook (33rd) and Oscar Robertson (36th). They were followed home by Oscar Eyssens (37th) and Sam Moores (39th).
In the U13 Girls race, Safiya Husain (10th) and Maisie Curtis (31st) stepped up to the U13 distance for the first time.
In the U13 Boys race, spectators were treated to a fine run from William Rabjohns from Poole AC (national cross-country champion), as he cruised home by a handsome margin.  Solid performances from Jack Moores (9th), Ben Hutchings (13th) and Charlie Cox (22nd) made up the WADAC team.
Rebecca Mitchell (15th) was our sole U15 entrant.
In the seniors race, Tom Ventress, making his WADAC debut, finished in 8th place, with the effervescent Simon Harvey in 9th and the Chairman Paul Cox, anchoring the team home in 19th place.
The next Wessex League Cross Country event is on the 21st October at Lychett School in Dorset.  Please enter via the WADAC members website by 14th October, if you wish to enter.  Anyone who entered the first race, is already registered.
