Winchester & District Athletic Club (WADAC) are on top of the Wessex Young Athletes Track & Field League table after winning the second and third matches of the season.

At the second match at Southampton, WADAC won both the main match and Quad Kids competitions. Pride of place goes to Oscar Webb who produced a tremendous performance in the under 13 boys High Jump. Oscar cleared 1.62m which is an Under 13 boys Wessex League record and ranks him first in the UK for High Jump in his age group. Oscar also won the Long Jump with a leap of 4.83m and the 75m hurdles race in 13.2.

Timon Francis had a great sprint double win in the U13B 100m 14.8 and 200m 29.4 as did Ed Bruce in the U15B races with 100m 12.8 and 200m 25.2. Ed was supported by Matthew Dean who had a double win in the B races 100m 13.2 and 200m 25.7.

James Lewis managed a fine Grade 1 (G1) performance in the U13B 1500m winning a time of 4.38.2 with Stan Parkinson 1st B 5.00.0, also in the middle distance Reuben Hobbs A 800m 2.34.4 and Ruben Price B 800m 2.36.1 gained maximum points. In the U15B category Ollie Withers won the 800m (G4) in 2.13.4 and Ben Chesterfield 1st 1500m 4.48.2.

There were boys 4X100 relay wins in both the U13B (Timon Francis, Ben Berwick, Musa Sanyang & Ethan Imhofe) and U15B (Dan Kimber, Ed Bruce, Matthew Dean & Ollie Withers).

Ruben Burrows long jumped 5.02m to win the U15B event and Charlie Elford-Pond had a throws double in the Shot 9.43m and Discus 25.52m. Theo Roberts in the U17M section had a really good double win in the 400m 56.2 and 800m 2.13.0. Montel Gondwe sprinted well to be victorious in the 200m in 24.2.

Other male WADAC winners were- Ben Berwick U13B 100m 15.6 : Musa Sanyang U13B 200m B 30.1 : Dan Kimber U15B 80 m Hurdles A 12.8 : Sam Mballa U15B 80 m Hurdles B 16.4 : Luc Pearce U17m Long Jump 5.12m : James Medley U17m 1500m 4.38.0.

In the Under 13 girls 800m race the two WADAC girls ran magnificently with Elreza Mulder 1st A 2.39.5 and Safiya Husain 1st B 2.43.9. In the field, Erin McBriar 20.67m and Elisa De Liberali won both strings of the U13G Discus.

Grace Weeks produced her usual smooth performance in the 70m hurdles to place 1st in 12.1.

Rose Chesterfield 4.57.8 and Ellie McErlean 5.10.3 were double winners in the U15G 1500M. Aisling Hitchman ran a strong race in the 800m to win in 2.27.6.

In the U17W middle distance Lily Neate 4.52.2 1st A and Isabella Beck 1st B 4.53.5 dominated the 1500m race. The two Emilys, Smith and Weeks produced two wins each with Ms Smith 1st 80m hurdles A 14.2 and High Jump 1.50m and Ms Weeks 1st 80m hurdles B 15.1 and Long jump B 3.89m.

Other female WADAC winners- U13G Shot Tula Nandy 6.84m : U15G 75m Hurdles B Emma Shedden 13.1 : U17W High Jump B Rebecca Mitchell 1.35m.

In the Under 11 Quad Kids event WADAC had first place girl in Lucia Bertacchini 220 points who had a superb Long Jump of 3.70m with Poppy Taylor 3rd and debutante Orla Edgecombe 6th who had the longest female Vortex throw of the day of 30.20m, Hannah Lowe was 8th. The girls produced a WADAC club record points total of 838.

In the boys event Mackenzie Paterson was a fine 2nd with Zac Reynolds 4th, Felix Bowyer 5th and Ethan Skipwith 7th. Ethan has already broken the WADAC Quad Kids boys Long Jump record of 4.07m.

The third match was held at Guildford and WADAC again won comfortably.

The under 13 boys completely dominated their middle distance races with Reuben Hobbs 2.29.7 1st A and Ruben Price 2.38.0 1st B winning both 800m and James Lewis 4.34.2 (G1) and Tom Grote 5.02.0 cleaning up in the 1500m.

Oscar Webb unfortunately slipped in his hurdles race to deny him victory but won th U3B Long Jump with 4.83m and High Jump with a height of 1.45m.

Dan Kimber and Sam Mballa won both U15B 80m hurdles races whilst Matt De Lara leapt to victory in the Long Jump with a jump of 4.98m. Ben Chesterfield managed 4.46.7 in the U15B 1500m to win the A race.

In the U17M throws Alex Miles launched the Javelin 42.73m for a PB to win the event with Iwan Wrey-Brown winner of the B Javelin with 15.75m.

Erin McBriar and Lauren Richards superbly gained maximum points in the U13G Shot and Discus between them.

Grace Weeks produced her usual slick win in the U13G 70 m Hurdles race in 12.1 supported by Amy Porter winning the B race in 13.4.

Emma Shedden had an excellent day in the U15G category she first won the 75n hurdles in 12.6 then won an exciting 800m race in 2.27.6 and then completed the day by winning the 300m in 45.7. Alice Eyssens backed up by Emma up winning the B Hurdles race. Olivia Busher 34.10m and Jess Marinus 25.22m both threw very well to win both Javelin strings, Jess also won the Discus B with 18.32m.

Aisling Dunne had two wins in the U17W section in the 1500m A and 300m B races. Other female winners- U13G Elisa De Liberali 100m B 14.9 : U13G Tula Nandy High Jump B 1.20m : U15G Jasmine Jones 1500m B 5.19.9 : U17W Emily Smith 1.55m High Jump A & Olivia Jones High Jump B 1.45m.

In the Quad Kids competition Hannah Lowe had a splendid day finishing 2nd girl overall with Poppy Taylor 3rd and Lucia Bertacchini 6th. WADAC boys completely dominated with Mackenzie Paterson excelling with a first place, Felix Bowyer 2nd and Zac Reynolds 3rd.
