England Athletics Regional Council elections

The deadline for nominations for this year’s England Athletics Regional Council elections is Monday 1 March 2021.

Due to the unprecedented number of Regional Council seats available [40] across the nine regions, it was agreed by National Council to allow until Monday 1st March 2021 for those anyone interested in becoming a regional councillor to come forward. Please help us widely communicate this deadline to the members of your club.

To promote the 2021 Regional Council elections to your members, EA has created free to download promotional assets and information via the England Athletics MarketingHub. These assets include:

We’ve even provided within the MarketingHub (click here to log in or sign up free) some example Regional Council election copy for social media posts. We also have a dedicated 2021 Regional Council elections page on the England Athletics website which can be found at www.englandathletics.org/regcouncil. As well as the above assets featuring on this webpage, there is also an exclusive interview with London regional councillor and former international athlete Nadia Williams talking about her role as a regional councillor. Please do feel free to help promote Nadia’s interview within your club / member body as a way of encouraging your members, particularly those most likely to be interested, to consider submitting their self-nomination form to become a regional councillor in 2021. Becoming a regional councillor is both a rewarding and privileged role with the unique opportunity to help shape the sport for the future benefit of their clubs and members. Regional Councils provide a vital link between satisfying the specific needs and priorities of their local members and athletics and running clubs whilst contributing to the overall future health and success of athletics and running as a sport.
